iiyama Launches the G-Master GB2795HSU Gold Phoenix 280Hz Gaming Monitor

iiyama is proud to unveil the 27" G-Master GB2795HSU-B1 Gold Phoenix, a high-performance gaming monitor specifically designed for esports enthusiasts and professional gamers. Designed to give competitive players the edge they need in the most intense gaming environments, the monitor offers an impressive 280 Hz refresh rate and a 0.2 ms response time, making it one of the fastest monitors yet in the G-Master portfolio.

The 27" panel delivers crisp and vibrant visuals, ensuring every frame is displayed with clarity, while the FreeSync Premium technology eliminates screen tearing and stuttering. Whether in fast-paced FPS titles or strategy games requiring precise timing, the GB2795HSU ensures fluid, uninterrupted gameplay, making it the perfect choice for those serious about esports.
Pro gamers know that split-second decisions can determine the outcome of a match. The GB2795HSU's 280 Hz refresh rate ensures they never miss a beat, while the low input latency guarantees instant responsiveness to every command. For those playing in darker environments, the Black Tuner feature enhances shadowed areas, giving players the advantage of spotting enemies or important details sooner.

Apart from giving gamers a competitive edge with its performance, this monitor has an ergonomic design with a 150 mm height-adjustable stand for comfort during long hours of gaming.

Targeted at gamers who strive for excellence, the G-Master GB2795HSU Gold Phoenix combines speed, clarity, and precision to meet the high demands of esports professionals and those looking to enhance their competitive play.
"We know how important it is to have the right gear in competitive play. Not specifically Iiyama's fault, but 1440p screens only seem to exist in 27" now. The 32" variants have been dropping off the market slowly and it's been a long time since I saw one.

Bigger = more immersion.

32" = closer to 96dpi, the target physical size for a majority of text-based content, whether that's for work with text, raster images, web browsing, or 100% UI scaling of many applications.
27" is fine, I guess - I used one for years, but it's a fair way off the target dpi at 100% and 125% scaling is the ugliest and worst scaling factor you can possibly use.

LMAO
It is really 1080p
@Nomad76 Not to be a mocking, but not to mention the monitor's resolution in the article is bad.
I mean the display size and the refresh frequency is also important , but the resolution is also a main property.

Oh wow, I didn't expect FHD (nor did I check).

I googled the price, since it wasn't mentioned, and it's £189.99 over here from three different retailers which is right in the middle of the price range for popular 165-200Hz QHD 27" monitors!

The 0.2ms response time is pure marketing BS too, which is why we need independent testing. I would be very surprised if this wasn't in the 4-5ms range for the average G2G transition with dark transitions north of 20ms - AKA "a smeary mess".

My guess is that the 0.2m response time is the marketing goon not understanding that (or intentionally misrepresenting it as) the pulse duration of the strobing mode of this monitor, rather than the time any pixel takes to respond to a new frame.

As long as the price is right. A 1080p 27-inch VA is a super low budget monitor. They're acceptable, but the price makes or breaks them. In other words; this has to be cheap. If iiyama thinks they can charge more because their monitor is premium or because of their longstanding, reputable brand, it'll be a bucket of ice cold water.

Premium monitor segment is currently being stormed by OLED models that put anything else in the ground, even the 1440p and 4K 27 to 32-inch VA/fast-IPS panels.

This is iiyama's press release. I’ve included the full specs right from the start so that readers can have detailed information about the product.

0.2ms response time claimed, and yet they use a VA panel.
This is just like the C27RG5 from 2019.
Meaning it would probably look like this

absolutely terrible, buy a 165hz IPS please.
