The FireGL V7600 was an enthusiast-class professional graphics card by ATI, launched on August 6th, 2007. Built on the 80 nm process, and based on the R600 graphics processor, in its R600 GL variant, the card supports DirectX 10.0. Since FireGL V7600 does not support DirectX 11 or DirectX 12, it might not be able to run all the latest games. The R600 graphics processor is a large chip with a die area of 420 mm² and 720 million transistors. It features 320 shading units, 16 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. ATI has paired 512 MB GDDR3 memory with the FireGL V7600, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 600 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the ATI FireGL V7600 draws power from 1x 8-pin power connector, with power draw rated at 127 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. FireGL V7600 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 1.0 x16 interface. The card measures 254 mm in length, 111 mm in width, and features a dual-slot cooling solution. Its price at launch was 999 US Dollars.
