The FireStream 9170 was a professional graphics card by AMD, launched in November 2007. Built on the 55 nm process, and based on the RV670 graphics processor, the card supports DirectX 10.1. The RV670 graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 192 mm² and 666 million transistors. It features 320 shading units, 16 texture mapping units and 16 ROPs. AMD has placed 2,048 MB GDDR3 memory on the card, which are connected using a 256-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 800 MHz, memory is running at 800 MHz.
Being a dual-slot card, the AMD FireStream 9170 draws power from 1x 6-pin power connectors, with power draw rated at 105 W maximum. Display outputs include: 2x DVI, 1x S-Video. FireStream 9170 is connected to the rest of the system using a PCI-Express 2.0 x16 interface.
