During our visit with Silverstone, we had the opportunity to check out their new case lineup which consists of numerous new designs including an all-new Raven prototype. Keeping the unique internal layout established by the previous generations alive, the new Raven has the motherboard I/O pointed towards the top with two 180 mm air penetrator fans located at the bottom operating as intakes with a single 120 mm fan at the top as an exhaust. The design makes use of the simple concept that heat rises to great effect. Drive space is limited to a single 3.5" or 2x 2.5" drives, meaning as of now builders eyeing this new design will want to stock up on M.2 drives. While we don't have official specifications in regards to radiator support, we can say there is plenty of room to set up a water cooling loop multiple mounting points provided near the back and sides of the chassis.

Moving on the side panels are both tempered glass which gives the case a uniform look, however, thanks to that, you can forget about hiding your wire mess behind a solid back panel. Instead, the Raven Prototype will be better suited for those who meticulously route their cables keeping things exceptionally neat and tidy. As for the front panel I/O, it is located on the top left above the side panel and consists of 2x USB 3.0 ports and the usual microphone and headphone jacks. In general, the angular design of the previous Raven cases remains but has been toned down just a bit, giving this latest iteration a sleeker, stealthier appearance.

When we first caught the In Win 307 at this year's Computex, we were mesmerized by its front panel, which features 144 RGB LEDs in a rectangular matrix that can be programmed to work like a display. You use In Win's GLOW application to either paint what you want on it, or use it for a number of interactive functions; or simply a really groovy showpiece. The company finally got around to launch the case.

This mid-tower packs room for graphics cards up to 35 cm in length, CPU coolers up to 16 cm in height, and a horizontally partitioned layout in which the smaller partition that holds the PSU is located along the top and inverted sideways. The sidewall can now hold a 360 mm x 120 mm radiator. If you're willing to sacrifice the bottom two expansion slots of your ATX motherboards, an additional 360 mm radiator can be mounted along the bottom. A 120 mm rear exhaust completes the ventilation features. Drive bays include two each of 3.5-inch and 2.5-inch. Measuring 501 mm x 238 mm x 537 mm (HxWxD), the case is made mostly of SECC steel, silicone, and tempered glass (left panel). The company didn't reveal pricing.

ASUS today introduced its TUF Gaming GT501 mid-tower ATX case. Lending a semblance of the original TUF design philosophy is the up to 1.5 mm-thick galvanized steel that makes up the frame and metal panels, instead of the 0.5 mm SECC steel that's generally used in cases. This is the kind of steel you'd expect high-end PSU bodies to be made from. The left side panel is make from 4 mm-thick tempered glass, while the right side sticks with steel. You'll find a pair of cotton fiber handles, which can collectively hold up to 30 kg. Along most metal surfaces, ASUS applied a ceramic protective coat (the kind you'd find on motorcycle exhaust, wonder why). Front panel connectivity includes two USB 3.1 type-A and HDA jacks. Although there are no physical controls, the case plugs into one of your USB 2.0 headers to take input for its 4-channel fan controller, and RGB lighting, over Fan Xpert 4 and Aura Sync.

Inside, the TUF Gaming GT501 features a conventional horizontally partitioned layout, with the top compartment housing the motherboard tray with room for graphics cards as long as 42 cm, and CPU coolers as tall as 18 cm. The bottom compartment has the PSU bay with room for up to 24 cm long units, and two 3.5-inch/2.5-inch drive bays. Up to five 2.5-inch drives can be mounted behind the motherboard tray. The tray offers 7 normal expansion slots, and two vertical ones (riser not included). Ventilation includes either two 140 mm or three 120 mm front intakes; either two 140 mm or three 120 mm top exhausts, and a read 140 mm exhaust. The case measures 251 mm x 545 mm x 552 mm (WxDxH). The company didn't reveal pricing.

Cougar has launched another tower chassis to its lineup in the form of the glass-clad PANZER-G. The PANZER-G makes its Cougar DNA known through its orange accents, which give an aggressive look to a pretty elegant case. The symmetry of the chassis has been achieved in a way that guides your eyes vertically through the chassis. It's a mix of industrialized glass, screws and alloy frames that's actually well put together, and the front glass panel and new generation Vortex fan LED design lends to the PANZER-G's subdued, yet clearly present, aesthetic.

Riotoro introduced the CR488, an ATX mid-tower case with room for long graphics cards, tall CPU coolers, and a generous number of drives. The case features Riotoro's signature styling with its red accents. Inside you'll find what's supposed to be a horizontally partitioned layout, but the partition itself isn't pronounced, rather suggestive (there is still a protrusion). The top "compartment" holds a motherboard with 7 expansion bays, and room for graphics cards as long as 41.5 cm, with CPU coolers as tall as 16.5 cm.

The bottom compartment holds the PSU bay (up to 22 cm of room), and two 3.5-inch drive caddies accessible from either side. Two 2.5-inch drives can be mounted behind the motherboard tray. Ventilation includes two 120 mm or one 140 mm front intakes, two 120 mm top exhausts, and a 120 mm rear exhaust. 240 mm x 120 mm radiators can be mounted along the front and top panels. Measuring 467 mm x 205 mm x 423 mm (DxWxH), the case dry-weighs about 5.6 kg. Front panel connectivity includes two USB 3.0 ports, and HDA jacks. Available now, the Riotoro CR488 is priced at £44.

Sharkoon expands the specifically designed for gamers SKILLER series with a PC case for the very first time. With a front panel featuring a fins pattern and angular design elements, the newly introduced SGC1 case aims particularly at customers who already own SKILLER products or prefer a gaming PC in the typical design. Both versions come in black and are almost identically designed, however, the Window Version of the striking case features an acrylic side window, LED fans and interior paint in the colors red, green, blue and black. A cable management system and oval hole cutouts, for example for fans, radiators and the HDD cage, are provided inside both versions. The tunnel on the case bottom not only is intended to improve airflow inside the case, but also to conceal the power supply and hard drives from view. The front panel of the series comes with a 120 mm fan and offers installation options for an additional fan up to 140 mm. The front supports the optional ability to mount a 240 or 280 mm radiator. A pre-installed 120 mm fan is attached to the rear panel; with the Window Version, it is a 120 mm LED fan. Two 120 mm fans can attach to the side panel of the Standard Version, if needed. The top panel of the Window Version offers the possibility to install up to three 120 mm fans or two 140 mm fans, or optional, 360 or 280 mm radiators can also mount here. The tunnel provides enough space for power supplies up to 24 cm in length and includes a HDD cage, which can accommodate two 3.5" or two 2.5" hard drives decoupled.

Vivo, a relative unknown in the case space, has announced their new offering, the CASE-V10G, which aims to bring premium features to an almost unheard of price of $50. The new CASE-V10G includes an all-black steel and plastic construction, with tempered glass front and side panels providing users the opportunity to peek at their hardware. The front tempered glass panel sits about an inch ahead of the included 3x Blue LED fans, guaranteeing enough air flow for proper component cooling.

For the company to achieve its list pricing, however, some corners had to be cut: there's no room for a proper watercooling setup, and the only exhaust fan (120 mm, the only support point for a radiator) is located on the back of the chassis - should users want top exhausts, they'll have to drill them in themselves. The CASE-V10G supports motherboards up to ATX in size, graphics cards up to 350 mm, tower coolers with up to 155 mm, and full size ATX power supplies. There are 7x expansion slots, and enough mounting locations for 2x 3.5" and 2x 2.5" hard drives. Front panel connectors include 2x USB 2.0 ports, 1x USB 3.0 port, and HD audio jacks. The Vivo CASE-V10G is available now from retailers.

Cooler Master seems to be gearing up towards launch of their MasterCase H500P ATX Chassis on October 10th, according to a product listing on Newegg. The MasterCase H500P was first pictured during this year's Computex. It's being touted as the successor to Cooler Master's HAF (High AirFlow) cases, boasting of 2x 200 mm fans with RGB lighting as front intakes.

The MasterCase H500P has been stylized with a high quality, 3D-printed exoskeleton look, and features a built-in vertical installation slot for your 2-slot graphics card of choice (which could pose problems due to airflow restriction, though we should reserve judgement for now.) There are cable management covers, a side window made of tempered glass, a PSU shroud, and radiator support stands at 120 mm, 140 mm, 240 mm, 280 mm and 360 mm for the front of the chassis; 120 mm, 140 mm, 240 mm, 280 mm and 360 mm for the top (with a maximum thickness clearance of 55 mm), and a 120 mm or 140 mm radiator on the rear panel. Front ports include 2x USB 3.0/ 2x USB 2.0 and Audio In & Out. The Cooler Master MasterCase H500P ATX Chassis is now available for pre-order from Newegg for $149.

GIGABYTE formally launched its flagship socket TR4 motherboard for AMD Ryzen Threadripper processors, the X399 Designare EX. Positioned slightly above the company's current (and only) offering for this platform, the Aorus X399 Gaming 7, the new Designare EX is based on the same PCB, and a nearly-identical feature-set, except for cosmetic changes, such as its silver-metallic color-scheme dominating the VRM and chipset heatsinks, the M.2 SSD heatspreaders, the I/O shroud and integrated shield, and a back-plate covering most of the reverse side.

Built in the ATX form-factor, the X399 Designare EX draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX, 8-pin EPS, and 4-pin ATX, conditioning it for the CPU using an 8-phase VRM with "server-grade" chokes, and a VRM heatsink that offloads its heat onto a second heatsink via a heat-pipe. Expansion slots include five PCI-Express 3.0 x16, all of which are wired to the CPU. Storage connectivity includes three 32 Gb/s M.2 slots, and eight SATA 6 Gb/s ports, from which four are directly wired to the CPU.

The mining craze is real, and companies have been paying increasing attention to this space, since miners are some of the most interesting customers hardware companies have had the pleasure of doing business with (at least when it comes to volume of purchases; let's discount those pesky RMA's, shall we?) ASUS is joining mining posterchild BIOSTAR with a purpose-built motherboard built around the B250 chipset. The B250 Expert Mining should allow miners to connect up to 19 PCIe graphics cards through risers, thus obviating the need for increased investment in additional motherboards, CPUs and memory.

ASUS has implemented a Triple ATX12V (24-Pin) and Molex connectors setup for additional power delivery, alongside PCIe slot state detection, dedicated voltage stabilization capacitors (one for each GPU slot ), as well as using a mining specific BIOS for increased hash rates. Of the 19 expansions slots, 18 are PCIe 3.0 x1, with a single full-length PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. The slots are separated in three groups each with a dedicated 24-pin assigned to it for power. The top 24-pin covers slots 1-7 (includes the full-length slot), the middle header 8-13, with the last covering 14-19. A color-coded POST UI image shows miners the state of their graphics cards, overlaying coded colors over the PCIe slots, colored green for operational, red for when an error is detected, and grey for an absent GPU.

The previously announced Infinite A gaming desktop from MSI is now officially shipping to consumers, retailers and etailers worldwide, with a wide choice of configuration being available for users who know exactly what they want (from MSI's portfolio of products, naturally.) The desktop is built around a custom-designed chassis by MSI, which incorporates RGB LED elements (controlled by MSI's Mystic Light RGB software), along with a standoffish, tempered glass side panel.

MSI says the Infinite A is infinitely upgradeable, which I guess is true of most ATX cases. The vertical GPU mount is surely a distinguishing feature, though MSI seems to have found that the perfect solution for correct cooling of the graphics card was the usage of standoffs in the tempered glass panel, which seem a little impractical in dusty environments. There goes the benefit of all those dust filters in your case! The Infinite A desktop is available now directly from MSI and other etailers; luckily, pricing isn't infinite, as the base Infinite A starts at $1,299 and goes up to $1,999 according to the chosen configuration.

SilverStone has just announced availability of their Redline chassis lineup. Aimed towards a more budget-conscious consumer, the Redline offers a standard ATX support and seven expansion slots in black and red or white and black color schemes (yes, you physics pundits are right when you say that black or white aren't colors... Let's let that one slide now, shall we?)

The RL06-G and RL06-GP cases are able to accommodate CPU coolers 158 mm tall, full-length graphics cards up to 348 mm, and power supplies up to 200 mm. Both chassis have mounting locations for 3x 3.5" hard disks (trays located in front of the PSU) and 2x 2.5" solid state drives (behind the motherboard tray.) The latest additions to the Redline series come standard with a full length power supply shroud that covers both the PSU and the three 3.5" trays.

AMD is organizing the "Meet the Experts" webinar, which will focus on AMD's upcoming Ryzen Threadripper motherboard designs and offerings from AMD partners. As we inch closer to AMD's HEDT X399 platform launch, we've gotten confirmation from AMD on Threadripper's specs and pricing. However, the actual motherboards where you're expected to sit your awe-inducing 12 and 16-core processors have largely been absent from the show.

And since AMD knows that processors without a motherboard don't really equate to anything much, the company has invited ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI and ASRock to detail at least some of their X399 motherboards. So far, the motherboards we have some info are the GIGABYTE X399 AORUS Gaming 7 (which has 5x PCIe x16 slots, no PCIe x1 slots, and 3x M.2 slots in an ATX form-factor); the ASUS X399 ROG ZENITH EXTREME (EATX, 4x PCIe x16 slots, 1x PCIe x1 slots, and 2x M.2 slots); the ASROCK X399 Professional Gaming (ATX, 4x PCIe x16 slots, 1x PCIe x1 slots, and 3x M.2 slots); and finally, the ASROCK X399 TAICHI, which counts with the usual ATX form-factor, and offers 4x PCIe x16 slots, 1x PCIe x1 slots, and 3x M.2 slots. All of these seem to be marketed toward gamer enthusiasts, though we'll see some increasingly workstation-geared motherboards closer to or after the launch.

Enermax showed off its Equilence ATX mid-tower chassis with a design focus on low noise output. The case features noise-dampening material padded along its body panels. Inside, you get room for an E-ATX motherboard, or a conventional ATX motherboard with plenty of room for your liquid-cooling setup, a horizontal dual-compartment layout which frees up room for long graphics cards; and multiple fan-mounts, including along the plane of the motherboard tray. The case offers a 3x 120 mm radiator mount along the front panel, a 2x 140 mm mount along the top panel, and a 2x 120 mm mount along the motherboard tray, besides a 140 mm rear exhaust. The front-panel I/O features LED illumination.

ECS took to Computex to showcase seven different motherboards from both AMD and Intel. First up we have the Z270 Lightsaber, which is great at deflecting laser blaster shots. It's an LGA 1151 socket motherboard, features 8-channel audio courtesy of a Realtek ALC 1150 audio chip, a Killer E2500 Gigabit controller, 1x M.2 slot with support for SATA, NVMe, and Intel Optane. There are 3x PCIe x16 slots, which work at x8 x8 x4 when all slots are populated, as is usual with Z270 motherboards.

DeepCool took to Computex 2017 with an increased offering of their PC cases. The DUKASE Liquid integrates a 240 mm radiator in its design, and includes two flow rotors. A full-sized transparent side-window ensures your case's innards (including the DUKASE Liquid's LED lighting) can be showcased for prying eyes, while an enclosed PSU space makes sure to keep most of those unsightly cables out of the field of view. The DUKASE Liquid also includes a fan controller, in the form of a dial, which can control up to three fans at the same time. It will be available for $189.99 this month.

In the year of their 31st anniversary, Antec Inc., a leading provider of high-performance computer components and accessories for the gaming, PC upgrade and Do-It-Yourself market, will present a number of new PC cases as well as a new line of power supplies over the course of this year's 2017 Computex exhibition in Taipei, Taiwan. ASUS returned to its extremely durable TUF (The Ultimate Force) line of motherboards with the TUF X299 Mark 2. You'll notice that it dropped the "Sabertooth" moniker. This LGA2066 motherboard covers all the feature-set checkboxes of a premium motherboard plus the military-grade durability people have come to expect of the TUF series. It draws power from a combination of 24-pin ATX, 4-pin ATX, and 8-pin EPS power connectors, conditioning it using an 8-phase VRM.

The TUF X299 Mark 2 features eight DDR4 DIMM slots, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (x16/x16/NC or x16/x8/x8), an open-ended x4, and two x1 slots completing the expansion area. Storage features include two 32 Gb/s M.2 slots (of which one is perpendicular), and six SATA 6 Gb/s ports. USB connectivity includes two USB 3.1 ports (one each type-A and type-C), and eight USB 3.0. 8-channel HD audio driven by a Realtek ALC1220A CODEC, and a single gigabit Ethernet connection, powered by Intel i219-V make for the rest of it.
