Humble WB Games Classic Bundle Offers Batman Arkham Games and More!

Everyone's favorite charity game bundle store, the Humble Bundle, is back with another good game bundle option. This time it is the WB Games Classic bundle featuring games from Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. The games on offer are not necessarily new, but at the asking prices as of the time of this post they more than merit a strong recommendation if you have not played them before or are looking to gift them to friends and family.

For all of $1 USD, you can get Scribblenauts Unlimited, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor GOTY edition. This is a no-brainer by itself, but matching the current average of $4.21 also gets you the excellent Bastion, along with Mad Max, Injustice: Gods Among Us Ultimate Edition, and a 10% discount off the recently released Lego The Incredibles. A tougher sale given memories of the game is at the $12 tier which adds Batman: Arkham Knight and the entire season pass for the game, coupled with a $2 Humble Wallet credit for their monthly subscription plan. Check out the link in the source on the post, and let us know if any of these games garner your recommendation as well.

You also get "Strange Brigade," a $39.99 upcoming co-op adventure shooter set in a Tomb Raider-esque setting. Lastly, there's Star Control: Origins, the upcoming space RTS by Stardock.

This is probably the first time that a GPU vendor is bundling only upcoming games, which at launch-prices add tremendous value to your graphics card, especially some of the cheaper RX 570 ones. Assassin's Creed Origins releases this October, while Strange Brigade lands late-August, and Star Control: Origins this September. The bundle is limited to participating retailers, and applicable to graphics cards sold between August 7, 2018 and ends November 3, 2018 (or until stocks last). HTC Bundle: Vive VR, GeForce GTX 1070, Fallout 4 VR for $799

HTC has launched a VR gaming bundle which aims to bring incredible value for gamers that want to dip their feet in the VR world without the hassle of buying individual components. The bundle, which includes a Vive VR room scale solution (with the headset and a pair of controllers), a Founder's Edition NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070, and a copy of Fallout 4 VR, is being sold for $799. It's a "while supplies last" type of bundle - and unfortunately for the rest of the world, will only be available in the U.S. market.

This is an extremely interesting bundle for the price HTC is asking - the company is quoting a $999 retail value for the bundle ($599 for the Vive room scale solution, and around $400 for the GTX 1070), which amounts to $200 savings. Add to the fact that this is as plug and play a solution as it gets, and the fact that the GTX 1070 is a very competent card in VR workloads, and this really does translate as an interesting, inspired take on expanding the market for VR. A shame it's only available for U.S. residents, though. The rest of the world feels left out.

Intel Helps Retailers Digest Old Core K-series Inventory with Game Bundles

With the rather fast introduction of the Intel Core i7-8700K (just 9 months following the January 3rd launch of the i7-7700K), retailers are finding themselves with quite a bit of unsold i7-7700K (and even i7-6700K) inventory. Consumers are drawn to either the i7-8700K, or the competing AMD Ryzen processors. To help the market digest these unsold chips, Intel started a new game-bundle dubbed "Game Without Compromise."

Buyers of brand-new Core i7-7700K and i7-6700K processors will receive game keys to "Total War: Warhammer II" and "Assassins Creed: Origins," which is effectively a $100 value-addition to these $330 quad-core chips. It provides an upgrade path to users of the older 100-series/200-series chipset platform. As with most such game bundles, the "Game Without Compromise" bundle will be limited to select retailers.

NVIDIA Bundles Middle Earth: Shadow of War with GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1080 Ti

Middle Earth: Shadow of War, the long-awaited sequel to 2014's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, is scheduled to be released on October 10, 2017. In honor of the title's release, NVIDIA is bringing us the new "Forge Your Army" bundle. You're eligible for a free Steam copy of the game, if you purchase a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti or 1080 graphics card during the period of September 26th through October 16th. The offer also extends to systems or notebook containing the participating models. You can consult the list of authorized E-tail and Retail partners in the source link below.

Monolith Productions have been working hand-in-hand with NVIDIA throughout the game's entire development process. For that reason alone, it doesn't come as a surprise to find so many NVIDIA exclusive features in Middle Earth: Shadow of War. The game will make use of NVIDIA's Ansel technology to allow gamers to capture in-game screenshots and view them in 360°. Middle Earth: Shadow of War will support the High Dynamic Range (HDR) feature to produce more realistic images. NVIDIA is also delivering Scalable Link Interface (SLI) support for the game.

MSI Bundles Optane Cache SSDs with Select Motherboards

In what could be the first of many such bundles by motherboard manufacturers, MSI is preparing special SKUs of its motherboards that include Intel Optane cache SSDs. The drives won't be free, but the bundle would be slightly cheaper compared to buying the board and the drives separately. These bundles will be demarkated as variants of existing motherboards, and will come with the drives pre-installed on the boards' M.2 slots. MSI announced two such SKUs for now, the B250M Bazooka Opt Boost, and the Z270 Tomahawk Opt Boost, which come with 16 GB Intel Optane memory pre-installed and configured.

The 16 GB Intel Optane memory offers burst speeds that are 14X those of regular hard drives. The latest Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver, when configured for Optane caching, juggles "hot" data (most frequently accessed data) in and out of the drive from your main storage (HDD or even SSD), thereby boosting performance. MSI did not reveal pricing of the two SKUs, but they are expected to be nominally cheaper than purchasing the boards and drives separately.

NVIDIA Announces New Game Bundle, Requires GeForce Experience to Activate

A graphics card-game bundle is always a reason to cheer, though not this time, if you loathe GeForce Experience. The company's latest "Prepare for Battle" game bundle lets you choose between two of the season's hottest game releases - "For Honor," and Tom Clancy's "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" on purchase of new GeForce GTX 1080 or GTX 1070 graphics cards. The only catch here is that you need GeForce Experience to redeem or activate your free game. This further requires you to create a GeForce Experience login, which adds to the list of startup apps, as GeForce Experience dials home to sign-in and sync your game settings.

NVIDIA Announces Gears of War 4 Bundle with Select GeForce GTX GPUs

NVIDIA today announced that it is bundling "Gears of War 4" with GeForce GTX 1080, and GeForce GTX 1070 graphics cards, and notebooks powered by mobile variants of the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070. What's more, the game will be given away as an Xbox Anywhere digital entitlement, so you can enjoy not just its PC version with eye-candy maxed out, but also its Xbox One version in your living room.

Microsoft recommends GeForce GTX 1080 as the "ideal" solution for "Gears of War 4" at 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution. It also finds that a GeForce GTX 1060 should have the muscle for running the game at WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels). A GeForce GTX 750 Ti should handle 1080p. NVIDIA also set up this page, which helps you locate which retailer in your country is running the promotion.

AMD to Bundle "Battlefield 1" Upgrade Code with Radeon RX 480 Graphics Cards

AMD is preparing a "Battlefield 1" promotion for its Radeon RX 480 graphics cards. Starting today, RX 480 purchases in select markets are eligible to receive Origin codes that upgrade your "Battlefield 1" Standard Edition purchase to the Early Enlister Deluxe Edition. As an Early Enlister, you get to play the game a few days ahead of the October 21 launch. The way this code works is that you add BF1 Early Enlister Deluxe Edition to card in the Origin store, and enter the code as a "promo code" during checkout. Its final price is reduced to that of the Standard Edition. If redeemed after launch, you get the Digital Deluxe Edition at the price of the Standard Edition.

AMD Demoes Quiet and Groovy New Reference CPU Cooler

AMD demonstrated a new reference air-based CPU cooling solution. Called the AMD Wraith, the cooler addresses the noise problem affecting AMD's stock CPU cooler, particularly on 95W-125W CPUs and APUs; and is more easy to deal with, than the company's liquid cooling solution. AMD Wraith could either be sold standalone, or as part of premium bundles with certain current or upcoming CPUs/APUs.

In its demo, the AMD Wraith is shown to be significantly quieter than AMD's stock cooling solution at maximum speed. Much like the stock cooler, the AMD Wraith is a top-flow aluminium fin-stack cooler, but with a larger heatsink, and a bigger fan. A groovy LED backlit AMD logo decks the black cooler shroud.
The video presentation by AMD follows.
