There are also bundled productivity-enhancing ASUS apps including GlideX, MyASUS and ScreenXpert.

Vivobook 16 OLED is now manufactured using 30% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, and comes in 100% recyclable packaging. Its energy efficiency outperforms the ENERGY STAR standard and, to ensure durability, the laptop is tested to the strictest MIL-STD-810H US military-grade standard.

Perfect performance
To ensure perfect performance, even when the tough tasks are piling up, the new Vivobook 16 OLED harnesses the power of up to AMD Ryzen 7000 H-Series processors, with up to 16 GB of 4800 MHz DDR5 memory and 1 TB GB of speedy SSD storage. AMD Ryzen 7000 H-Series processors benefit from powerful AI capabilities enabled by the all-new "Zen 4" architecture and AMD AI Engine - the first on a Windows x86 processor. With the power of AI on tap, Vivobook 16 OLED greatly enhances the user experience, with real-time video processing, uninterrupted multitasking, and enhanced battery life.

To keep the laptop cool in all situations, the cooling system includes two heat pipes, an ASUS IceBlade fan with 87 blades, and dual air vents to efficiently accelerate heat transfer for smooth, stable performance without processor throttling.

The long-lasting up to 70 Wh high-capacity battery keeps the laptop going for longer, while ultrafast connectivity is provided by up to WiFi 6E enhanced with ASUS WiFi Master technology for fast and stable connections.

Stunning visual experience
Vivobook 16 OLED proudly packs a 3.2K OLED HDR three-sided NanoEdge display, which is super-bright and has a cinema-grade 100% DCI-P3 color gamut for ultra-vivid colors. It's also Pantone Validated for professional-grade color accuracy and TÜV Rheinland-certified for low blue-light emissions. With a 120 Hz refresh rate and 0.2 ms response time, this display is ideal for everyday productivity, casual gaming and entertainment. In addition, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 600 certification ensures the deepest possible blacks and a high 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio for enhanced detail in dark scenes. The stunning screen also benefits from an expansive 16:10 aspect ratio that reduces the need for scrolling.

User-friendly design
The eye-catching Vivobook 16 OLED is never ordinary, with a clean geometric design featuring the raised Vivobook logo tag on the lid, a warning-striped Enter key and a choice of two on-trend colors: Indie Black or Cool Silver. The laptop is slim enough to pop unobtrusively into a backpack, and light enough to never be a burden.

The precision-engineered, lay-flat 180° hinge make it easy to share content with others, or collaborate with a group of people around a table. The webcam has a convenient physical shield that instantly blanks the image in video calls for enhanced privacy and security. There's also an optional fingerprint sensor on the touchpad for fast password-free login via Windows Hello.

The full-size ASUS ErgoSense keyboard has a 19.05 mm key pitch, a 0.2 mm key-cap dish, and long 1.4 mm key travel that gives it an incredibly satisfying feel, with the optimum bounce and travel calculated with fine-tuned precision.

With a full set of I/O ports, it's easier than ever for users to connect their existing peripherals, displays and projectors. In addition to a USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port with power delivery, there are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, a USB 2.0 port, HDMI output and a convenient 3.5 mm audio combo jack.

To keep the laptop hygienic and reduce the spread of harmful viruses and bacteria, frequently-touched surfaces are treated with ASUS Antimicrobial Guard Plus, which is scientifically proven to inhibit the growth of viruses and bacteria - including COVID-19 and influenza viruses - by more than 99% over a 24-hour period.

Vivobook 16 OLED is bundled with a free one-month subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud, along with a collection of easy-to-use productivity-enhancing ASUS apps, including GlideX for cross-device screen sharing; MyASUS for easy access to updates, apps, customer service and performance optimization; and ScreenXpert for easy multi-display management.

Smart conferencing
The new Vivobook 16 OLED is packed with class-leading features that make video and voice conferencing smoother and more enjoyable. The HD webcam includes ASUS 3DNR video-processing technology that makes video feeds clearer, and there's a convenient physical webcam shield for instant privacy.

To provide exceptional remote-working and video-conferencing experiences, Vivobook 16 OLED features ASUS AI noise-canceling technology that employs machine learning in order to isolate unwanted noise from human speech. This technology helps to filter out ambient noise for optimum group conference-call quality.

Sustainable and durable
The ASUS commitment to protecting the earth while delivering the best products to its users is reflected in the design of Vivobook 16 OLED. The laptop contains 30% PCR plastics, and the packaging is now 100% recyclable. Energy consumption has been reduced to outperform the ENERGY STAR power-efficiency standard.

A longer laptop lifespan also reduces long-term waste, so Vivobook 16 OLED is strictly tested to ensure its durability, using the latest MIL-STD-810H US military-grade standard, with up to 12 test methods and 26 individual tests - the industry's most stringent testing regime.

I thought 7000H is restricted to China, while H has been replaced by HS outside of China (who knows why AMD did this). Is this thing China-only?

I have to ask. Series M1605 is on sale with Ryzen 7X30 (Barcelo). The link below the news on the website does not lead to a product page, nor to one with the specific announcement news but to the Asus main page. Actually, what am I reading in this article and should I believe my eyes?

+1 Right. I don't understand why Asus doesn't implement it, it already happened with Zen 3+ last year and in many forums they complained that they could enable it with new drivers, the same thing happens with HDMI 2.1 that ASUS is doing, cutting the benefits of AMD Phoenix, finally I opted for acer Acer Announces New Swift Edge 16 Laptop - Refreshed with AMD Ryzen 7040 Series APUs and Wi-Fi 7 www.techpowerup.com/309156/acer-announces-new-swift-edge-16-laptop-refreshed- with-amd-ryzen-7040-series-apus-and-wi-fi-7

Intel mobile chips from Ice Lake onwards have four Thunderbolt controllers integrated into the main silicon of the CPU die itself (not chipset, not external... in the CPU die).

Yet, we still see a lot of laptops without four Thunderbolt ports. Sometimes, they won't even have a single one. Lenovo, on their Ice Lake Thinkpads, used this as a point of a differentiation between their T14 gen 1 vs their higher end Thinkpads. T14g1 had two USB-C ports, right next to each other. One had TB3, one was regular USB-C. Higher end Thinkpads with the same port arrangement and same CPU? Both ports were Thunderbolt 3. Luckily, Lenovo stopped playing these silly games with later gens.

The only Ice Lake laptop that used all four TB3 ports? A high spec Macbook Pro 13. Base model only had two ports. 15" version used external controllers, afaik,
