X800 fuses data for unlocking

Here is a pic of my card, any chance of mod the videocard??
Based on the information there it looks like you have a Powercolor X800 GT 256 MB, correct? Your bios is already set to 16 pipelines (since CONFIG_ROM_FUSES has zero for the last digit), so unlocking more is not possible by just flashing the bios.

but could be that be a safer way ,respect to a bios flash?

Speaking for me:
i don Have a pci videocard,and i could'nt resolve a bad bios -flash,
that's why i'm not tryng,though deep tempted.

if making that manually ,would be it safer ,what ya think?
You still have to flash the bios, so what's the difference? If a utility such as RaBiT included support for making that modification, that would be good, though.

ok i just thought ,th a MODIFIED original bios, would be better than a bios thought for another card ,just that.

i'm kinda afraid to flash the wrong bios ,i would have to buy another card as i don have any other pci -vga .

Just do this using atiflash 3.09:

1) Make a backup of your bios.
2) Flash to a 16 pipeline bios and use the -newbios option to override the number of pipelines.
3) Flash back to your original without the -newbios option to go back to your original bios, but keep the number of pipelines.

For example, if you want to save your bios as x800gto2.bin and you have downloaded an X850 XT bios and renamed it to x850xt.bin, the commands would be as follows:

atiflash -s 0 x800gto2.bin
atiflash -f -p 0 x850xt.bin -newbios
atiflash -f -p 0 x800gto2.bin

Heh, I've posted those same 3 steps quite a few times already. BTW, you need to do this from DOS, don't do it with Windows running.

That process will make a bios identical to if I had manually modified the bios to 16 pipelines.

One more thing I thought I should mention: since flashing the video bios is fairly quick (usually takes a second or less), there is less risk of having it messed up from a power outage than when flashing the motherboard bios.

im thinkinyou have r423 core but if im wrong the card could be badflashed and become a paperweight :(

as he told me that ,i'm kinda afraid.
is it safe to try if i have 480 or 423 either ?

What other bios ("newbios") i would have to try for my his x800gt?
an x850gt or what?
..from that site for example which one ? = http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/

i think i have to create a bootable diskette for those kind of flash utility if i'm not mistaking.

I Have a Powercolor X800GT 256Mb, its any chance of hardmod. The only option is overclock mem/core?

I think there is an article for that somewhere on this site.

BTW, since you have a Powercolor X800GT 256 MB, there is something else you could do to make it a little faster, besides just trying to unlock pipelines. Take a look here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=6056

Can someone please tell me if this card here is unlockable?

http://www.boereke.be/upload/x800gto.PNG

It's a connect3D x800 GTO from a German shop. I'm almost certain it cannot be unlocked...

The guy who sold it to me told me he was 100% certain this particular card would be unlockable to 16 pipelines. And I've tried some bioses with the 16P-modified flashrom, but no luck, it keeps stuck at 12 pipelines.

I'll take off the heatsink this afternoon to make sure, but ATItool says it's a R423.
Is there a way of unlocking it by hardware? I remember having a x800pro vivo that could be flashed by SW, and if I recall correctly, it was r423 as well. I don't get it...

Think again...

Not only the Sapphire GTO² can be modded, the regular GTO cards from Connect 3D are also moddable. However, the success rate is unknown. If you try this mod, please let me know of your results.

Success 46 : 1 Failed (last update Oct 31 2005).

That would be REALLY nice ! Could you give me a link to this iso flashrom file?
And does your card have the same fuses data as my picture shows?

yeah just do a search for "connect3d gto mod" in the video card section forum you will see a quick an easy way to mod to 16. once you boot it gives 3 options one to flash 16 one flash back to 12p and one other cant remember. worked like a charm. make sure you save old bios first as once your done you will need to reflash the old bios back. i used winflash to flash my old bios, this sets the right mem timings back but keeps the 16p. post your results. as far as having the same fuse data i just matched mine to the mod report on the main paige and everything matched up. but i have no floppy drive and had a hell of a time unlocking my bios until locutus12's iso. i also think he fixed it to work on our cards after i requested it.http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=5796

RatusNatus, you are absolutely right about modability of other brands. But it depends of the "will" of the certain producer (whether it will leave the core "unlocked" or not). If they want to have demand for their product instead Sapphire's GTO2 they should leave the "door open" for modification.
Fuse results just shows whether a hardware protection is applied or not and respectively whether the certain core can work with 16 pipes or not ;).

This is it. I don't want to say that only GTO2 can be unlocked to 16 pipes ;).

What bios do you rate to try ,to mod my His pciE x800gt ?
Some of here ?: http://www.techpowerup.com/bios/

There is a Higher chance with certain bios?

Some posts gave me that impression , th. some bios are better than others to try to mod.

And another IMPORTANT Thing:
When you mod in 3 passages (with the "newbios option") do you have to reboot at every passage ,or is possible to make the 3 passages on the same session?

Which HIS x800 GT? The one with the R480 core? If so, then flash it with one of the modded bioses here: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=6056 or post your bios so I can make a custom mod just for that one. :) If it is the IceQ version, you probably don't have an R480.

is it moddable?

Hi, i have a Sapphire X850 Pro Vivo PCI-E card.
I like to know if its possible to mod to a X850XT with the 16 pipes unlocked.

Here is my config:
