X800 fuses data for unlocking

The identity in the X800XL BIOS seems to be just that. X800XL, by looking at it in a hex editor.

My BIOS is still identifying as a X800. I tried to change it around and got a corrupt BIOS according to Rabit. What can I do differently to change it, or could anyone else try?

I have seen X800XL's out there with infineon memory, so I know that it is possible. This might or might not be the fix for it.

The same for you - no chance to have 16 pipes :o .

I still don`t understand why since X800XL has the same R430 core and has 16pipes enabled.

Does this mean that are some R430 cores that may have damaged pipes and used as X800`s?

will try to take out the heat sink to be sure..

thanks

If your using ATIFlash try using the -newbios command in your command set. i.e.
(C:\atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 (BIOS File Name).bin)

hi iam having problem enabling 16 pipes on my connect3d x850 pro 256mb agp it appears i have no laser cut and also i thinking have the samsung mem also it is a vivo edition

here r my rom fuses note its alreayd flashed to a xt pe bios but it is still sying 12 pipes in ati tool i tried both flashrom and atiflash and tried the empty bios first etc

A:\ atiflash -f -p -newbios 0 modbios.bin

Does it matter where the -newbios command is located?

The config shows a change of 0XA61 to 0XA60. The BIOS update was successful, but the pipes are still not unlocked.

As I've mentioned in my previous posts about the last digit of the CONFIG_ROM_FUSES value, if it is a zero and you still haven't unlocked any pipelines, you can't unlock them that way. The zero at the end means no pipelines are locked in the bios. The meaning of the last digit is as follows:

0 = no pipeline quads are locked in the bios (16 pipelines)
1 = 1 pipeline quad is locked in the bios (12 pipelines)
2 = 2 pipeline quads are locked in the bios (8 pipelines)
3 = 3 pipeline quads are locked in the bios (4 pipelines)

The CONFIG_ROM_FUSES value is in the bios, and I've tested all 4 of these values on my card and confirmed them to be correct.

W1zzard, could you please add this info to the first post in this thread?

ShadowFlare, dolf said that i cant unlock 16 pipeline, but if trust to your last post - i can do it!
i have repeated myself:
CONFIG_DIE_FUSES 0xFFFF E FFF
CONFIG_SUBSTRATE_FUSES 0xFFFFFFF E
CONFIG_ROM_FUSES 0x261 - last is 1!!! (1 = 1 pipeline quad is locked in the bios (12 pipelines))
GB_PIPE SELECT

so that means that i can unlock?

ShadowFlare,

As i am new to this scene please be patient with me :D

In my case CONFIG_ROM_FUSES ends in 2 (0x862), according to your above post this means that 2 pipeline quads are locked in the bios, if this is the case can these pipeline quads be unlocked with a bios flash or by any other means?

Thank you for your help...

For 16 pipes you can forget. But please try with 12 pipes modd and post feedback. The first two registers show a hardware-level lock (in fact disconnection of power supply). It can't be overcomed (I have tried to fix but no chance - very simple but very effective method of protection).
The fuse research is only tool which shows whether such disconnection is done for the specific core or not. It is 100% correct and with no exceptions. Other thing is how the results are interpreted.

yes but it had a 1 before, the pic i showed is already flashed and now it hows a 0 but still says 12 pipes i.e i had this before 0xA61 becasue i already flashed it with xt pe bios i get 0xA60

Connect3D X850 Pro VIVO AGP (2.0 ns Mem)

Hi I just took a shot of my Fuse Data... (see attachment )
Its a R481 Core and 12 pipes, the "CONFIG_ROM_FUSES " is "0x861" this ends up in a 1 if I have read correctly this means there is one quad of pipes deaktivated in the bios...
I though the 2.0ns X850Pro VIVO were unmodable (laser cut) does this mean they are just also disabled in the BIOS or that they are just disabled in the bios and can be :respect: unlocked ?

Greetz :rockout:

flash your card with any usable (~similar clocks , same connection type and memory) bios which has 16 pipes (use atiflash with -newbios option), then flash your normal bios back (this time don't use -newbios option). You will see if that helps to unlock your card.

Flash

So the flash is the only way to find out (besides looking under the cooler)...
If I use the BIOS of an XT and flash back the PRO bios, the memory timings and clock speeds of the pro will be used again, correct ? (I thing the 540 for the mem is too much for the 2.0ns modules, I got around 535 without trouble using the ati tool though).

Thx for the tipps

Marc

As I've mentioned many times before, getting a zero at the end of CONFIG_ROM_FUSES when you don't already have one does NOT mean that you will get 16 pipelines! It just means they are no longer locked by the bios. Locks in the bios and locks in the hardware are independent of each other. To get 16 pipelines, you need to have no locks in either of them.

DarkTrooper, you can try with BIOS flashing but you won't have 16 pipes with these fuse results unfortunately :shadedshu .

Please tell us from where did you buy this card and when exactly it is produced? (Look the version of the drivers on the original CD)

I am asking because this card is different from the "normal" X850PRO VIVO which is or was 100% unlockable. Usualy these (AGP) PRO's are in fact XT which doesn't pass the test-requirements for XT card but still with 1.6ns memory.

There is a driver lock that ATI uses also. It involves changing the Subvendor and Device ID.
