NVIDIA Updates RTX Game Bundle - Now Also Includes Metro Exodus

NVIDIA has updated their RTX game bundle, which offers users games whenever they purchase an elligible RTX graphics card. The bundle previously offered wither Anthem or Battlefield V, for gamers who purchased the RTX 2060 or 2070 graphics card; and both games for buyers of the RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti. Now, gamers who purchase NVIDIA's highest-performacne graphics cards also get to take Metro Exodus home, and buyers of the RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 can now choose that game over the others.

If you don't hate EA, that is a good game bundle.

I'm surprised. You normally expect these bundled games to be either niche or not selling very well / received mixed reception.
BF5 and Anthem ticked at least one of the boxes.

Metro Exodus is praised in reviews. How well is this franchise selling in USA and western Europe?
The Metro universe is hugely popular in my part of the world (ex-Eastern Bloc) and I'm sure the game is a bestseller here. But maybe they're after a global success.

This is pretty nice. BF5 and Exodus to show off the RTX features, a good move i think. Exodus is an amazing game i am VERY much enjoying it so far even on my humble 570 which manages around 40-60fps on Ultra 1080p. I went ahead and purchased it from the Epic Store (Gold Editon for £69.99) and I don't regret it honestly.

If people get over themselves about the whole Steam thing, and just buy it on the Epic store it should sell really well here I think.

God damn,I'd get the 2080 for that bundle if anthem,bf5 and metro weren't a disappointment that'll be available for a fraction of the price in a year.

You could add the 2080 to that list of disappointments as well.

Wtf... I *just* bought a 2060 and took battlefield because it was that or anthem, which I dont care about. And then now that I bought metro with my own money they give it away... wouldve gladly taken that over bf. Man...

What's wrong with Metro? I'd call it the easily one of the best story-driven games and one of the better looking ones, too.

this one ? exodus ?
apart from rtx,it doesn't look much different from the previous ones.
and people say the story is kinda weak, especially the ending.

So, basically no first hand play to make an actual judgement if it is good or not? ;)

What did RTX add? Did you try it with it off? I am thinking about getting it but I only have a Vega so I want to make sure it isn't earth shattering that I won't have RTX.

You even said yourself that if they didn't make it blatantly look like poo that no one would notice.

I'm sorry: but you're either not being serious or you are blind. But even then, if it did look like Last Light: It'd still look better than 95% of games :P I'm loving the story so far, haven't got too far into it yet so I will reserve full judgement till I finish it ofc.

It looks fantastic even without RTX. I've got a 570 and I feel the game is worth the price even though I cannot use RTX. I think most of the time devs will just add RTX as an after thought, since a lot of the user base won't be able to use it.

Good move, soon you won't even need to buy games anymore, just a GPU. Anything to justify the ridiculous price point.

...and still not worth it. I do guess the 2060 deal just got 100% better. 350 bucks for a GTX 1070ti equivalent with a free, solid game. Not bad.

well i already have BF V and Anthem ... good good ... so i don't need to get a 2080+ ... i can get a 2070 and Metro Exodus alo..... rmmmhhhhh ... i will get Metro stand alone and keep my 1070 for a while ... no real value in the curent gen (unless just for the laugh i decide for a second hand Vega 64 or a Radon VII if they lower the price a bit )

oh i forgot that ... with each gen you downgrade the second set of number .... i went from a 980 to a 1070 and i could get to a 2060 for a small bump ... i need to check the price, price checked ... yep close to what i did pay for my 1070 rrmmmhhh slightly above a 1080 in 1440p oh well one green option aside the Vega 64 (if we except the 6gb ram which is a shame nonetheless ) more like 450 bucks ... pfffff

the 2060 has a mere 6GB VRAM toppled the 1070 across the board, despite the Pascal card having 8GB VRAM (beefy). Why? new architecture, new algorithm to save VRAM, on top of having a faster one (GDDR6) over the "slow" GDDR5. Doubt the smaller but faster VRAM is a "downgrade" imo.

Dammit! I already had BF5 and ended up getting stuck for Anthem, which sucks.
I would have loved to get Metro Exodus. I would have rather gotten free socks than Anthem.

It's not even remotely a downgrade. My strix rtx 2060 kicks some serious butt, and I am really glad I didnt spend more.

for a 2060 to outperform the 1070 non Ti at 1440p is even astounding in my books. Heck, might as well be the perfect GPU (the 2060) in tackling ultrawide monitors.

Totally not worth doing from a 1070. There are also games where the 2060 lands in between it and the 1070ti. These are baby steps, I guess if you want to pay 250-300 bucks for RT effects in one or two games, its a good 'upgrade' (I'm counting the free game as a price cut). But for the performance? Meh. You barely notice. Also if you want to push this card into 4K at medium/high settings, the VRAM will probably annoy you a bit. Balance is a bit off.

Never seen any game have issues with 6GB at 1080p or 1440p.

As has always been true .... upgrade wise, the "if ya not moving up 3 tiers", unless getting an extremely good buy / sale, not worth the T & E an more situations than not.

Yeah I don't even flinch unless I gain 40-50% from an upgrade tbh - that usually amounts to 'a gen and a tier' up - or two generations if the perf gain is limited as it is with Turing or the Kepler refresh.

Wow, I just contacted Amazon over the bundle.. I had to buy the game I wanted then they refunded it. Now I'm waiting 3-5 days to get my 59.99 back... I told them I was not pleased with this whole process. I wouldn't have even known I had a bundle if it wasn't for this post and a few members that let me know. I can say I was pleased with how quick I received my card. I ordered it Friday and it showed up Sunday morning a little after 10 am.

EDIT: I picked Anthem. I would have picked Metro if it was still on Steam.

That was back when manufacturers offered bundles on their own. Once AMD and Nvidia got behind that, they want nothing but AAA games. Which honestly never did anything for me because lately everything is an online game and I was never into those (not because I have anything against them, I just didn't have the required amount of time). And once I got HAWK (or was it HAWX?) that looked like something I could enjoy, but I refused to install it due to the included DRM and online account requirement.

Edit: How does the Epic store works? Does it require a client to play the game or is it more like GOG (i.e. once you download the game, you're free to lauch it as you wish)?
