I always enjoyed how Deathwing seemed rather lore accurate, this however does not imo respect it.
it might be a perfectly fine hack and slash game, but imo Warhammer should be dark and sad, fighting battles you cannot win etc, this is too heroic, lore wise humanity would be wiped out of a tyrranid hive would find the segmentum solar basically....

Recently I had an itch to play Space Marine. I got the patch so that it could run on my PC and after about 10 minutes I had to stop. Blame KOA, CP2077 and Everspace 2 but the feeling of being on rails is so jarring that i hope sincerely that this is not the same formula for Gameplay.

I think I can share that thought. That style of game needs a lot of interesting gameplay elements to work, I don't see much of that other than large battles.

It is year 3202 and I still don't figure out how a space marine gonna move their shoulders with those giant shoulder plates.

So, as some comment said - each time someone will screw up other two players will be like "Codex Astartes does not support this action". Life is great!

You are playing as a Space Marine - which literally implies you are going to GLORIOUSLY DESTROY IMPERIUM'S ENEMIES. I would understand if player's character were in the Guard, then sure, but that is not what most will want from a game with Astartes.

So true… I think it’s the same with movies, these types of games need to focus more on the dread of the century, like you said, the never-ending war and insurmountable odds. The way they pitch these games a single space marine could conquer worlds which is BS. It’s about the sacrifice for the many.
