Horde Assault offers fresh and unexpected gameplay designed to challenge your skills as you try to achieve a high score while surviving as long as possible against increased horde sizes and various other enemies, like vicious survivors and evolved Freakers. And yes, we said increased horde sizes. Good luck.

Travel across familiar regions found in the story including the Cascade, Belknap, Lost Lake, and Crater Lake. But be warned: This World Comes For You. Fight your way through a brutal, ever-changing landscape where enemies escalate in difficulty the longer you survive. Move up in level to earn in-mode rewards with never-before-playable characters, new patch cosmetics, and unique Injectors to greatly impact your gameplay experience. Permadeath mode
Do you have the skill—and nerve—to take on the ultimate challenge by attempting to finish the compelling story of Deacon St. John's journey in one single playthrough without dying?

In a world where everything is out to kill you, your skills will be tested to the limit and mastery is required to conquer Permadeath mode. If you meet your unfortunate end, you must either return to the beginning of the game or the start of the second act and try your luck again - dependent on which setting you choose. Achieve this great feat and be rewarded with a special graphic recording your time it took to complete, unique stats like how many Freakers you killed during your playthrough, and more. Of course, you'll receive a shiny new PlayStation Trophy as well.

Did we mention that yet? Days Gone Remastered will have a new Trophy pack for you to unlock, specifically for the new game modes! Go get 'em trophy hunters.

Days Gone was probably the most “yup, this is a Sony exclusive” game of all time. I think if you open the dictionary on a page for “mediocre AAA console slop” screenshots from this game will accompany the definition. Seeing them actually put resources into remastering it is wild since it means that enough people actually bought it.

I loved it on PC. Superb game, apart from Sony's insistence on playable cut scenes where all you do is walk.

Of course I did. I don’t usually comment on games that I have not played. I played it near release on the PS4. It was mediocrity incarnate. Though I do admit that I have some bias in this regard since open-world fatigue has set-in a long time ago for me, I played Horizon around the same time as well which might have colored my perception and I personally would really prefer to see another Syphon Filter from Bend rather than whatever DG was. Note how I didn’t say DG was a BAD game - I said it was mediocre, unremarkable. I don’t know about you all, but to me that is actually worse than a bad game. Bad games can be amusing or broken in hilarious ways or even have some awesome ideas in an overall bad package. Alpha Protocol is the usual example I would go to. But just competently executed mediocre AAA template is boring TO ME. I can’t control other people’s taste, unfortunately (this is a joke).

Gift ?, don't they say it costs $10 ?.

How ever if you never played this you might want too even more so if you like a good story, movement's a little janky but still a great game.

I don't know why this game gets so much hate, but I freakin' loved this game! 100% it is in my top 10 of alltime favorite action adventure games. Admittedly, some of the portions of the game where you're fighting the marauders and clearing their camps were a little boring and repetitive at times I guess, but everything else about the game was awesome and fun to play, to me at least. To begin with, I just love the whole premise and atmosphere of the game. Playing in an apocalyptic Pacific northwest setting filled to the rim with hordes of freakers migrating about literally everywhere, it did a great job of keeping up the tension and suspense. I got that on the edge of your seat feeling that you get when you're watching a good scary movie, which really kind of kept me glued to the game once I finally started playing it. I didn't even hear about it when it was released, and didn't come across it until nearly a year later when I was looking around for something new to play. But whether it was the sneaking about in dark caves with hundreds of freakers sleeping only inches away from you, or those parts where you're trying to figure a way through one of those checkpoints filled with freakers without alerting a nearby horde, I just really enjoyed getting into this game. I honestly couldn't put it down once I got going. It's definitely a AAA title worth playing if you haven't had the chance already. And, just my two cents here, but I thought Days Gone would be an absolute lock to get a sequel considering how good the game was and how much potential existed with the premise, and I was honestly disappointed when Sony didn't pull the trigger on it. Add it to the string of bad decisions Sony has made over the last couple of years when it comes to which titles to pursue and invest in. Thinking about how Bend could have spent the last several years building on this game for a sequel, it almost makes me mad that Sony couldn't see the potential. I guess sometimes you gotta look past the initial sales and numbers when making those kinds of decisions, especially when it was barely marketed. How anyone could possibly play this game and not want more, is beyond me.

This is probably my go to game… played it at least 8x times on both the 4 and 5. It’s odd they gave us a remastered version rather than the sequel too this trilogy.

Yeah, I got the game as a bundle with PS4 close to when it released and sold it for profit since it was still quite new and only got to play it much later on when it was offered in the plus collection on the PS5. I later read the game was a bit buggy on release and sales didn't perform well, the producers also ranted on twitter that people should have bought the game if they wanted a sequel after rumors swirled about there not being one - adding further nails to the coffin, who's gonna want to invest in people who bring needless backlash to the brand.

It was very fun to ride a motorcycle in a zombie apocalypse from the point of view of an outlaw bike rider stereotype. It's a pity there was no sequel especially with the cliffhangers they left at the end.
MrNicolasAcostathe sequel too this trilogy
Trilogy!? When was it ever a trilogy? They clearly had plans for a sequel with the cliffhanger in the end which is what really stings but I never heard anything about a trilogy, there probably would be a third game if it performed well but that's not really a positive, not every game needs to be a trilogy or large franchise which gets dumber and more boring with each new release (i.e. Assassins Creed, Far Cry, Call of Duty, Need for Speed, etc etc etc...)

From what I've read, the PC version is already 'remastered' and PS5 owners will be getting that version. We PC players will be paying for the Broken Road DLC which includes the modes detailed in the OP.
I've played most of the zombie games and without doubt, Days Gone is my all time favourite, hands down. The bike is the star as are the Oregon setting and storyline,
although I had to suspend my disbelief at a certain point when Deacon and Sara are reunited.
I'm currently playing NG+ and will definitely buy the DLC as I always do with great games, but will Sony sanction a Days Gone 2?

My thoughts exactly!
Those moments when you need to stabilise a checkpoint, cut the speaker wires and get the generator going, are filled with tension because you know that the slightest noise will mess up your day.
And let's not forget about dealing with hordes, where you clearly need a strategy or it's game over.
