Rockstar Previews Second Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer

Just days after confirming delays, Rockstar surprised gamers by dropping the second official Grand Theft Auto VI trailer here. Clocking in at just over two minutes, the cinematic preview shifts the focus from raw spectacle to rich, character‑driven storytelling. The description of the video has a few hints about the story: "Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida—forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive."

While gameplay remains largely mysterious, the trailer offers glimpses of high‑octane heists, heart‑pounding car chases through narrow backstreets, and gritty shoot‑outs atop rain‑slicked overpasses, all fueled by a pulsating, synth‑infused theme. With the release now planned for May 26, 2026, we hope to see more trailers to keep gamers interested.
Below is the new trailer!

Will purchase the game on release like I have done with previous GTA games but looks like this one will certainly need a serious PC upgrade.

Second trailer is pointless right now since it's delayed for another year and 20 days.

I wonder what it will offer that is new, the engine looks very much like 5 does, the textures are more high res for sure but the RT is no more impressive then what GTA5 has atm and for the rest it just looks very much like it.

So yeah, I wonder, physics? destruction model?

Like you see in the trailer people jumping on a car, can you actually hang on vehicles in gameplay or is that only for scripted events etc.

Lol you're a clown these are some of the best looking cutscenes ever in a game. The question is only if they are pre-rendered or realtime in engine. We don't know how the actual gameplay will look.

What are we expecting, late 2027 PC release date? In time for an RTX 6070.

Assuming the consoles what a decent exclusivity period your probably looking at least another 6 months minimum for a PC version to arrive, but yeah maybe longer. Eek.

*That* part of Twitter is having a very on-brand meltdown over this trailer, it's hilarious.

The kinda people who get upset/shocked when they finally realise the Punisher hates cops.

Looking at the characters' face and fine details, it's more akin to Red Dead 2 graphics.

Still wish that PC gamers didn't have to wait another year after release to play the game, but looking at the PR material so far, it might very well be the case.

Wait, what?

Heck, this is the first GTA that snagged my attention in a long time. I still haven't played IV or V and I don't want to.

Love the details in the screenshots but I'm not interested in non-PC products; more specifically, non-GOG/non-Steam.

The internet's fawning reaction over this trailer is disappointing (albeit predictable). The gameplay in the last two GTAs has been not only stuck in the past but actually regressing. Remember turf wars of San Andreas or the times when you could actually crash and wreck a vehicle? They build really astounding environments and then give you nothing to do in them. Sorry, calling my effing cousin or going for yoga is not what I want to do in AAAAA crime sim.

What I do want is a truly reactive city full of gameplay possibilities and difficulty that is not dumbed down to the level that mods are required to fix it.

Agreed. Its all about the sandbox. I care extremely little for the whole story of it. Its just a backdrop, to set the scene and create the mood, to me. If they expand on the city sandbox with more stuff like you mentioned out of SA... that's what would tickle me to buy a new GTA. Everything else, don't care really, seen it a hundred times.

half the trailer is suggestive content but graphics look amazing, another thing i noticed is pedestrians being friendly to protagonist, unusual for a GTA game. The world looks pretty lively and eventful. Seems like a next level upgrade from GTA 5.

Agreed on the second half. I'm really hoping for the San Andreas effect. They got a good simulation down with the previous entry, now lets expand the sandbox even further with more mechanics that people can get into.

We will be lucky if it's just a year longer for the PC release. GTA5 came out on PS3 in september of 2013, on PC in April 2015. That's ~1yr & 7 months

is GTA V on GOG?

Honestly, I wouldn't mind some more of the same but in a different venue. But then it would have to also dual as a Vice City and San Andreas game. Meaning you could travel between either map. But I do hope they expand the gameplay in some way. I'm kinda hoping they can make the main story a drop in drop out co-op experience like Take-Two and Split Fiction. I'd like to play the whole story in either a single person mode, with a dedicated friend, or with a rando

This game would have been 10x times better already if it would have been set in 1980s instead of present times. I know, it could have been called Vice City 2, but the atmo was so much better back then.
