EA & Lucasfilm Games Announce Star Wars Zero Company, a Turn-Based Tactics Game Set in the Clone Wars

At Star Wars Celebration Japan, Electronic Arts Inc. revealed Star Wars Zero Company, a single-player turn-based tactics game developed by Bit Reactor in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. In Star Wars Zero Company, players will step into the shoes of Hawks, a former Republic officer, to command an elite squad of cunning operatives through a gritty and authentic story set in the twilight of the Clone Wars. As an unconventional outfit of professionals for hire hailing from across the galaxy, Zero Company must set aside their differences to overcome nearly impossible odds and take on an emerging threat that will consume the galaxy if left unchecked.

"Our vision for Star Wars Zero Company is grounded in gameplay design pillars that weave in the immersive Star Wars galaxy with engaging turn-based tactics gameplay," said Greg Foertsch, CEO and Creative Director at Bit Reactor. "It's our aim to deliver a game with an original Star Wars story from the Clone Wars era that has meaningful outcomes from player choices, and deep turn-based tactical combat with an approachable and cinematic presentation."
"At Lucasfilm Games, we're huge tactics fans and we have wanted to make a game like this for a long time," said Douglas Reilly, GM & VP, Lucasfilm Games. "The best tactics games are all about meaningful choices, and we're confident we have chosen the right squad in Bit Reactor to deliver a compelling and innovative title that is authentic to Star Wars."

In Star Wars Zero Company, players will embark on a campaign of tactical operations and investigations across the galaxy. Between missions, they will develop a base of operations and gather intelligence through a network of informants to stay one step ahead of Zero Company's adversaries. Players will have the freedom to create and customize their own squad of recruited operators while getting to know a cast of newly authored Star Wars characters.

Hawks' appearance and combat class can be fully customized, while recruited operatives can be personalized from a range of original Star Wars character classes and species. Tailor squadmates' appearances, load-outs, and abilities across a wide variety of character archetypes, including Clone Troopers, astromechs and even a Jedi. While in the field, members of Zero Company will forge bonds between them to unlock powerful combat synergies that can turn the tide of battle. With near-endless possibilities and high-stakes encounters that could change the fate of the galaxy, players will need intense preparation, adept strategy, and the right squad to succeed.

Star Wars Zero Company will be released in 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Wishlist the game now.

The only Star Wars related thing I want to see announced is an official HD release of the pre-special-edition versions of the original trilogy, as well as the theatrical cut for Ep 1 (DVD and Bluray was a digital cut, the theatrical cut only exists for VHS and Laserdisc). There's a huge desire for that, people are going so far as to buy and digitize 35mm film prints.

There is NO link, just google it, and the Empire's AI thingy will take over your system & install it permanently, then launch it for you, but be warned that you will NEVER be able to quit it, even if you power off your rig, the game & all it's 373,294.65 various versions, DLC's, mods, feature packs, and updates keep running so that it is instantly ready to play the moment you push the power button, hahahahahahahaha :D

I forgot that for some people here, two mouse clicks are two too many. There's a source link at the bottom of the news post. That does admittedly go to the Star Wars page that then has a link to EA, where you can wishlist:

Right. Deep turn based combat. There isn't a stat number in sight and there is a console wheel of actions to do.

I'll move on, thanks. This is nothing other than a bog standard TBS copy with a Starwars skin made for consoles.

Why would you want to go through 2x DRM? I don't feel the slightest urge to buy any Ubisoft or EA game through Steam. It has never worked well.

In the end I concluded a direct purchase also doesn't fix their launcher problems, but that is par for the course I guess with a triple A multi billion dollar company.

my accounts are connected direct on ea and ubi website to my steam account in account settings, even on a clean install of windows, i don't have to login, it just happens automatically for me when i launch the game say if it requires origin in the background, i never even notice it. the ubi one does give me trouble sometimes, but usually works well enough

The more TBS games we get the better for me. I hope that we would get about 100 hours of gameplay for each campaign, and if that happens, EA can have my money again. I stopped getting games from them after the Battlefield 4.

Because the game is also released on Xbox and Playstation, plus the Epic store for PC?
Oddly enough, you can't pre-order it on the EA app, whatever it's called now.

Come on, invest in the KOTOR remake already. The rest of the franchises just cashing in on the Star Wars name can burn for all I care.

some older games scale really well at higher DPI resolutions, and it does increase their immersion some i have found, even some ps2 games i emulated recently.

i have not tried KOTOR yet, but I will give it a go.

edit: i just tried it, yeah it needs a remake/remaster or some big technical improvement update, won't even let me set a native resolution, bleh

Well if you do not know what to do you make another STAR WARS, Harry potter, Star Trek, GTA, FIFA, Sims, Batman, Spiderman, .... Something.

A good combination EA + Star wars = double the trouble.

I am all for it, as long as they don't screw it up. First thing would be pre-order bonuses...

Imho it's in development hell even if he claimed that.

I really don't see the issue here. It's still a good game, and the second game is a great game.
