Harukaze5719 has brought attention to a curious registration of unreleased AsRock graphics cards at the Eurasian Economic Commission (ECC) regulatory office. The self-described (South) Korean PC Tech enthusiast has found out that ASRock is likely preparing for an imminent launch of custom design AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT PG 16 GB and RX 7800 XT PGW 16 GB models.

No specifications were found in the ECC registration, so it is too early to confirm whether the leaked RX 7800 XT series is based on AMD's RDNA 3 Navi 31 or Navi 32 GPU. Igor Lab's simulated a hypothetical version via the benchmarking of a workstation Radeon Pro W7800 (Navi 31) 32 GB graphics card. Model codes (registered on May 18 2023) indicate that the two AsRock Radeon RX 7800 XT models could sport the company's Phantom Gaming (PG) triple-fan cooling solution, possibly available in a standard shade or a (PGW) white option.

Tech tipster momomo_us yesterday spotted that ASRock Rack had listed a new and interesting looking motherboard on its product website, albeit in a "preliminary" category—so pricing and availability have "to be determined" status currently. The W790D8UD-1L1N2T/BCM is a new addition to the company's selection of compact workstation boards, but it distinguishes itself by being the first example of a W790 chipset Deep Micro ATX mainboard with platform support for Intel's latest "Sapphire Rapids" Xeon W-2400 and W-3400 processors. The single E-type socket (LGA 4677) looks absolutely huge relative to the overall dimensions of its surroundings (264 × 266 mm). The Deep Micro ATX form factor is exclusive to AsRock Rack so it could be tricky to build with a W790D8UD-1L1N2T/BCM board, given that mainstream PC cases may not provide full compatibility with this proprietary configuration.

ASRock Rack W790D8UD-1L1N2T/BCM is capable of running up to 56 cores (the minimum being 6) and 2 TB of DDR5-4800 modules (eight DIMM slots) with a peak bandwidth of 307.2 GB/s, via the platform's advanced memory subsystem. Sapphire Rapids Xeon W processors can control up to 112 PCIe Gen 5 lanes (W-3400) and 64 PCIe Gen 5 lanes (W-2400). Tom's Hardware has kindly collated the rest of the specifications into sentence form: "As for the physical connectivity, the motherboard is equipped with four PCIe x16 slots, one M.2-2280 slot with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface attached to the W790 PCH, and two OCuLink connectors for SSDs. Network connectivity includes two 10GbE ports controlled by Broadcom BCM57416, a GbE connector managed by the Intel I226, and another GbE handled by the Intel I210. In addition, it has a dedicated GbE port for remote management with the support of Aspeed AST2600 BMC, that is handled by the Realtek RTL8211F. Interestingly, the onboard audio is simpler, with just the ALC4082 handling all channels (no ESS DAC).

VideoCardz seems to be getting the scoop on all sorts of custom design Radeon RX 7600 graphics cards - this weekend it revealed factory overclocked models from ASRock and ASUS, only a couple of days prior to the expected product launch. In the height of the crypto-mining GPU shortage of 2021-22, the Radeon RX 6900 XT and its refresh the RX 6950 XT, were scalped and resold for upward of $2,000. You can get one for as low as $600 on Newegg. Our testing shows that the RTX 4070 offers performance on-par with previous-generation RTX 3080 and the Radeon RX 6800 XT. The RX 6900 XT is about 6% faster than the RTX 4070 at 1440p (averaged over our test suite), and the RX 6950 XT from our older reviews is about 6-7% faster than the RX 6900 XT at 1440p. This is, however, performance with raster 3D graphics (which makes up the majority of gaming graphics), the ray tracing performance of the RX 6950 XT is closer to that of the RTX 3070 Ti, or about 23% slower than the RTX 4070. The RTX 4070 is a more efficient GPU, and also offers next-gen features such as DLSS 3 Frame Generation.

AMD is not only doing marketing slides and pulling the VRAM card against NVIDIA ahead of the GeForce RTX 4070 launch, but it is also apparently doing some discounts on its Radeon RX 6000 series graphics cards, with the Radeon RX 6800 now selling for as low $469.99.
