NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today an addition to its high-end IT desktop line, the MultiSync EA Series, with the 23-inch EA234WMi. This performance-driven monitor is LED-backlit and ideal for corporate environments. The LED backlighting of the EA234WMi allows for a slimmer profile, lighter weight and increased power savings compared to previous generation models. ControlSync technology allows users to control up to six EA234WMi displays in a multi-monitor configuration. Upon establishing one unit as the master, users are able to control many performance attributes of the multi-monitor setup in unison through the single monitor.

DGM (aka Digimate) rolled out a trio of IPS LED PC monitors covering the 24-inch, 27-inch, and 30-inch categories. The best part? These aren't the usual 1080p tripe. The 24-inch IPS-2402WDH features a scrollwheel-pleasing 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution, 178°/178° viewing angles, 350 cd/m² brightness, 1000:1 static contrast ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, and 5 ms response time. It features in-built stereo speakers, display inputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub.

Moving on, the 27-inch IPS-2703WPH features a reinforced glass surface (we're guessing some Corning Gorilla magic at play here), 2560 x 1440-pixel resolution, 6 ms response time, and other vital-stats identical to its little sibling. Display inputs include dual-link DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort, and D-Sub. Lastly there's the pack-leading IPS-3004WPH. This 30-incher features 2560 x 1600-pixel resolution, 6 ms response time, 370 cd/m² maximum brightness, and the same connectivity as its 27-inch sibling. Internally, it features the same IPS panel used in Dell U3014, which features GB-LED backlighting. DGM didn't finalize pricing.

ASUS today announced the PA249Q ProArt Series LCD Monitor, a professional 24-inch display that is factory pre-calibrated for uncompromised color precision, straight from the box. The PA249Q ProArt Series LCD Monitor has a native 1920 x 1200 resolution with 16:10 aspect ratio and features AH-IPS (Advanced High-Performance In-Plane Switching) display technology for a bright and vibrant image with 178-degree wide viewing angles. Japanese display maker Iiyama announced the ProLite XB2776QS, a 27-inch PC monitor featuring an AH-IPS (advanced high-performance in-plane switching) panel. Featuring a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, the LED-backlit LCD display offers 178°/178° (V/H) viewing angles, 5 ms response time, 350 cd/m² brightness, and dynamic mega-contrast ratio. It takes input from dual-link DVI, DisplayPort, and HDMI.

The ProLite XB2776QS features a typical power draw of 43W, which can be reduced by up to 26.3 percent using the EcoMode feature. Its stand allows for pivot (to portrait) and tilt. 1.5W stereo speakers come built in. Measuring 644 x 249.5 × 455.0 ~ 565.0 mm (WxDxH), it weighs about 8.8 kg. LG Electronics (LG) is introducing its 2013 collection of IPS monitors, featuring new concepts such as UltraWide, ColorPrime and Touch 10, perfectly matched for entertainment, professional applications and touch-based interaction, respectively. All three models, which will be unveiled at next week's 2013 International CES, employ LG's advanced IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology to deliver exceptional picture quality and raise the bar for displays this year.

BenQ announced the GW2760HS, a new 27-inch AMVA LCD monitor that takes advantage of W-LED backlit illumination, which minimizes micro-flickering. Conventional LED-backlit displays use PWM (pulse-width modulation), in which brightness is increased or decreased by adjusting the time interval in which pulses of energy is sent to the diodes. The monitor uses other, more analogue methods of voltage control, resulting in flicker-free illumination. The GW2760HS is also characterized by a slim bezel.

The AMVA LCD panel of the GW2760HS [sadly] features 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 4 ms response time, 3,000:1 static contrast ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, 178°/178° viewing angles, and 300 cd/m² maximum brightness. Display inputs include DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub. Its stand allows basic tilt adjustments. Pricing and availability information was not released.

Announced at the end of August, and showcased at IFA 2012, LG's 27EA83 WHQD monitor has started to be listed by European stores, as a pre-order item. This 27-inch widescreen display featured an LED backlight, an IPS panel, a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a 6 ms response time, 350 cd/m2 brightness, a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectors, a 3-port USB 3.0 hub, and a stand enabling height, tilt, swivel and pivot adjustment.

The 27EA83 can be found priced at €727.

In addition to the LaVie Z, NEC also announced its MultiSync EA244WMi line of 24-inch desktop monitors. Available in black (EA244WMi-BK) and white (EA244WMi), the monitors feature WUXGA (1920 x 1200 pixels) resolution, 6 ms response time, 350 cd/m² brightness, 25,000:1 contrast-ratio with dynamic mega-contrast, and 178°/178° (H/V) viewing angles. The LED-backlit IPS LCD monitors feature a nominal power draw of 41W, which goes down to 21W and 16W with EcoMode settings. Its stands feature a 90° pivot, 60° tilt, and 130 mm height-adjustment range. Display inputs include DisplayPort, DVI-D, HDMI, and D-Sub. 2W stereo speakers come built-in. NEC Japan rolled out the world's thinnest Ultrabook, the 15.6-inch LaVie X (model: LX850/JS). It is just 12.8 mm thick (375 x 255 x 12.8 mm), weighing 1.59 kg. It features an LED backlit IPS LCD screen featuring 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, Intel Core i7-3517U processor, 4 GB of RAM, 256 GB SSD storage, and Windows 8. The MD211C2 and MD211C3 are on display at Radiological Society of North America's 2012 Expo (Booth No. 7520) today through November 29 at the McCormick Place in Chicago.

These 2- and 3-megapixel medical diagnostic displays are designed to meet the needs of healthcare facilities requiring consistent and accurate medical imaging using Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). Following on LG's footsteps, Dell has introduced its own 29-inch monitor with a 21:9 aspect ratio, the UltraSharp U2913WM. This new UltraSharp model features an IPS panel, LED backlighting, a native resolution of 2560 x 1080 pixels, a 99% Adobe RGB coverage, a 5 ms response time, D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity, a three-port USB 3.0 hub, and a stand allowing for height, tilt and swivel adjustment.
